I do, I do, I do, I do, I doooooooo...

I have a very unique view on marriage.  Having been married and divorced before, it has forced me to explore this 'institution' and it's revelance for today.

I'm a Christian so biblically speaking we are required to be married before any sexual activity.  But one thing christiandom has forgotten is God's original definition of marriage.  You see God never mentioned man's law.  He never mentioned wedding ceremonies either.  That's not to say that there is something wrong with weddings and stuff.  In fact I would like to get 'legally' married myself and make this public declaration of love.

But it's taking soooooo long and we are not getting anywhere financially to be able to do it.  Although I already feel that I'm married in the eyes of God...I would love to make it 'legal' in the eyes of 'man'.  And I'd love to change my name too.  I hate my name and I hate being the only one in my family with my name.  And I've thought about changing it by deed poll but then when we actually do get married it would be a bit on the weird side LOL

Anyway, talking about it to Aaron on the phone yesterday, he mentioned how he'd like to just get a celebrant and get married already and do the whole shebang at a later date.  Well that would make me really happy and maybe we could renew our vows on our tenth year anniversary of the day we got together.

It's a good compromise I think.  And it's not like we're not ready for the committment...we have two kids together already!  ha ha.  And although I know I'm already married to Aaron, this just takes it one step further and makes it official.

So we begin the search for a celebrant :)

we did this and then had an informal meal in our back garden with our friends...most people brought a dish, my pals decorated the garden, we borrowed tables and chairs etc and had a lovely lovely day.
